Openlab is a public institution in Stockholm, that have the mission: “to create conditions that make the Stockholm region a global center for societal innovations improving quality of life.” To do that, they teach design thinking for workers in the public sector. They invite us to create a set of proposals to provide a more engaging, inspiring and sustainable experience for participants and staff and a set of proposals to help the facilitators communicate Openlab experience in a consistent way.
After the research phase, we find two main problems. The website it's super confusing, and for real the students just find information through other students (most of then work for the same 7 public institutions), and they don’t know how to use what they learn after they leave the class.
To solve the problem of people not being able to use they learn, and to align with the Design Thinking methodology, that is playful, low-fi and very tactical, we decide to create a set of cards divided into the 5 steps of the process. To help then, even more, we powered the card with a facebook chatbot, that can send the cards, in the case they miss it, can respond questions, and bring even more information.
